Mary Oliver Kirk Maxwell went to be with our Lord Jesus on Wed., January 20, 2010 in Lynden, WA at the age of 94. Mary was a beloved Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother. Preceded in death by her husband Richard Maxwell; sisters Agnes Clemens, Bessie Masters, Florence Chilson and Isabelle Baker and brother Albert Kirk; she is survived by her daughter, Jeannette “Jan” and her husband Frank Turner of Lynden, WA; grandson, Steven Turner and wife Sherry of Custer, WA and their two children Christy Himes and Levi Turner; grandson, Rev. Dwayne Turner and wife Melisa of Oroville, WA and their two children Maxwell and Samantha. Born January 24, 1915 near Central Butte, Saskatchewan, Canada to Walter Oliver and Elizabeth (Noble) Kirk, Mary was the youngest of six children. She spent her formative years on the family homestead; moving with her family at a young age to Gillette, WY and eventually settling in Yakima. She attended schools in Gillette, WY; Hot Springs, SD; Sterling, CO; Yakima and Seattle, WA. On June 14, 1942 Mary was married to Richard William Maxwell. They were blessed with a daughter, Jeannette on June 19, 1948. Mary and Richard made their home in Seattle until his death in 1952. Mary and Jeannette then moved to Yakima where Mary worked for the Book and Bible Store; Rathburn and Ferguson Variety Store and Sprouse Reitz Stores until her retirement. She faithfully attended Stone Church Assembly in Yakima. Mary was loved and will be missed, but we look forward to our reunion with her in Heaven. Graveside services will be held Saturday, February 13, 2010, 11:30 am in Yakima at Tahoma Cemetery, 1802 Tahoma Ave.
